Definition of Anchor chain
Anchor chain refers to the heavy, linked chain that is secured to an anchor. This chain is used for mooring or anchoring a vessel in deep water or in unfavorable wind or current conditions.
Example: Despite the strong winds and rough seas, the experienced captain expertly maneuvered the massive cargo ship towards the designated anchorage. With the anchor chain securely fastened to the ship’s anchor, the crew began the arduous process of lowering the anchor and chain into the deep, dark waters below.
