Definition of Bin

A bin refers to a walled enclosure constructed on the deck of a barge. Its primary function is to retain cargo by containing it within the enclosure. For instance, in the transportation of gravel, the cargo is loaded into the bin, which in turn is secured to the barge. By using a bin to transport and retain the cargo, the efficiency and safety of the barge transportation are significantly enhanced.
