Nautical Term: Boiler casing

Definition of Boiler casing

The boiler casing refers to the thick, protective wall that separates different deck spaces from the intense heat generated in the boiler room. For instance, while sailors work on the navigation deck, they are shielded from the heat emanating from the engine room, all thanks to the insulating properties of the boiler casing.
