Definition of Broker

A broker is an individual who acts as an intermediary to arrange for the transportation of goods or cargo. In return for their services, brokers typically receive a percentage of the revenue generated from the transported goods or cargo.

For example, John Doe, a shipping broker, secured a deal for transporting a large shipment of steel from Sweden to the United States. John negotiated a favorable shipping rate with the freight forwarder. In return for his services, John received a percentage of the revenue generated from the transported steel shipment.
