Definition of LNG
Liquefied Natural Gas, often referred to as LNG, is a cryogenic liquid derived from natural gas. It is cooled down to a temperature of -162 degrees Celsius, making it a liquid at that temperature. LNG is transported in specially designed containers called LNG carriers. Here is an example of how LNG is used in a single paragraph: ‘During the winter months, the city of Boston relies on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to meet its energy demands. The LNG is transported from its production site in the United States to Boston via specialized LNG carriers. Once the LNG arrives in Boston, it is regasified and then transported through pipelines to various buildings in the city, including homes, schools, and hospitals.’
