Definition of SF
Stowage Factor: The ratio that represents the cubic space occupied by one metric ton (2,204.62 lbs/1,000 kgs) of cargo when stowed in a particular hold or compartment. For instance, a stowage factor of 0.6 would mean that one metric ton of cargo occupies 0.6 cubic meters of space.
