A Short Ton is a measurement used in the maritime industry in the United States. It is equal to 2000 pounds or 907.185 kilograms.
For example, when loading cargo on a ship, the weight of the cargo is measured in Short Tons. If the cargo weighs 50 Short Tons, it would be written as 50 Short Tons (100,000 lbs) or 50 st (100,000 lbs).
