Definition of Snibs

A dual-sided watertight door handle, also known as a ‘Snibs’ handle, is a type of handle designed to be operated from both sides of a watertight door. For instance, on a submarine, Snibs handles are used extensively on watertight doors, enabling crew members to easily access different compartments while maintaining the integrity of the submarine’s watertight seal.
