Definition of Trunk
Trunk’ refers to the vertical space or passage created by the extension of bulkheads or casings for one or more decks. This space offers access or serves as a conduit for piping or cabling. For instance, in a large cargo ship, the trunk provides access to the lower decks for crew members, while piping for fuel or water may be run through the trunk.
