The upper deck is a partial deck situated above the main deck, with its location being amidships.

For example, The old clipper ship, Star of the East, had a well-appointed upper deck where the captain and his officers would entertain their most esteemed guests while sailing across the vast and turbulent Atlantic Ocean.
