Nautical Term: Waterway bar
Definition of Waterway bar
A waterway bar is an angled or flat bar, secured to a deck stringer plate. This bar forms the in-board boundary of a waterway and acts as an abutment for the wood deck plating. For instance, in constructing a wooden pier, the waterway bar is fixed to the pier’s foundation and the deck plating is attached to it, thereby providing the necessary support and stability to the pier.
