Auxiliary foundations refer to the structural support systems designed specifically for the auxiliary machinery installed in the engine or boiler rooms of a ship.
For instance, in a power generation system on a ship, the main engine might be powered by heavy fuel oil, while the auxiliary machinery such as condensers, distillers, evaporator pumps, and others, might be driven by steam or electricity.
To ensure the stability and safety of the ship during its operations, it is essential to provide adequate support structures for the auxiliary machinery. This is where the concept of auxiliary foundations comes in.
