Definition of INTERMODAL

Intermodal transport refers to the transport of a commodity using multiple modes of transport in a single journey. These modes of transport include sea, road, rail, and air. For instance, a container of goods could be shipped from China to Europe by sea. Then, the container could be transported by truck to the final destination in Germany.
