Nautical Term: LTI
Definition of LTI
A Lost Time Injury, also known as LTI, refers to an injury that results in an employee being unable to perform their normal job functions for more than seven consecutive days, or 21 days in a 12-month period. For example, if a crew member on a cargo ship sustains a fractured leg in a fall, the injury would be considered an LTI due to the extended time the crew member would be unable to perform their normal job functions.
