Definition of PHPD

Per Hatch Per Day (PHPD) is a nautical term used to describe the number of hatches that can be made in a 24-hour period, given optimal weather and sea conditions.

For instance, a fishing vessel may have a PHPD rating of 500, meaning that under optimal conditions, the vessel’s crew can hatch and process up to 500 metric tons of fish in a day.
