Slamming refers to the violent impact between a vessel’s hull, typically the bow area, and the sea surface as the ship navigates through waves.
For example, The sailor at the helm felt the violent jolt as the hull of the fishing vessel slammed against the sea surface, causing a huge wave to crash over the bow. The sailor held on tight, bracing himself for the next wave as the vessel continued to battle through the stormy sea.
