Squall: A meteorological phenomenon characterized by a sudden and intense burst of wind, accompanied by heavy rain or snow.

The crew struggled to keep the sails under control and prevent the boat from being capsized. Once the squall had passed, the crew assessed the damage caused by the sudden and violent gusts of wind.
