Referring to the inward curvature of a ship’s sides when viewed from the front. Perpendicular sides are termed wall-sided, while those that curve outward are described as flared.
For example, a shipbuilder might say, The new design features a noticeable tumblehome to enhance the ship’s stability in heavy seas.
