A bosom plate, also known as a plate bar or angle, is an additional component fitted to an angle iron. This plate is used to connect the ends of two angles, forming a strong and rigid joint. For instance, in the construction of a ship’s frame, the bosom plates are used to join the various angle irons together, forming a robust and sturdy frame for the vessel.
