Definition of CBM

Cubic Meter (CBM) is a measure of volume in the nautical field. One CBM is equivalent to a cube with edges of one meter in length. For example, if the cargo capacity of a ship is 5,000 CBM, it means the ship can carry a volume of cargo equivalent to a stack of cubes, each with edges of one meter in length, and with a total volume of 50,000 cubic meters.
