Definition of Clearance

Clearance refers to the minimum distance required for vessels, cars, or loads to safely pass under, over, or through bridges, tunnels, highways, and other obstacles.

For example, a bridge with a clearance height of 15 meters would require ships to have a minimum air draft of 15 meters to safely pass under the bridge.
