Nautical Term: DNRSAOCLONL

Definition of DNRSAOCLONL

A shipment or cargo that is Discounted Neither (meaning no discounts apply) and Non-Returnable (meaning the shipment or cargo cannot be returned for any reason), is considered to be a Lost Shipment or Cargo, whether it is actually lost or not.

For example, a shipping company may have a policy that no discounts apply to certain high-risk or high-value shipments. Additionally, the shipping company may have a policy that once a shipment has been delivered, it is considered to be a non-returnable shipment. In such a case, if a shipment is lost in transit, it would be considered to be a lost shipment under the terms of the shipping company’s policies. On the other hand, if a shipment is actually found and delivered to its destination despite being classified as a non-returnable shipment, it would not be considered to be a lost shipment under the terms of the shipping company’s policies. Instead, it would be considered to be a successfully delivered shipment, despite the initial classification as a non-returnable shipment.
