Definition of EVTMS
An advanced Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS), enhanced with additional features, capabilities, and functionalities to effectively and efficiently manage vessel traffic in complex waterways and high-risk zones.
Example: The Port of Los Angeles, the busiest container port in the world, has implemented an Enhanced Vessel Traffic Management System (EVTMS) to manage the increased vessel traffic and improve safety and security. The EVTMS features advanced analytics and predictive modeling to optimize vessel traffic flow and reduce congestion and delays. It also integrates real-time weather and sea conditions data, as well as Automatic Identification System (AIS) data from all vessels in the area, to provide situational awareness and enable effective decision-making and response planning.
