Definition of Forecastle
The Forecastle is a raised structure located at the frontmost end of a ship. It is constructed by lifting the ship’s shell plating up to deck height above the highest complete deck of the vessel. Lastly, a deck is installed over the length of this structure.
For example, During the storm, the waves crashed against the Forecastle of the ship, causing the crew to brace themselves against the structure to keep from being thrown overboard.
