Definition of Gutterway

Gutterway refers to the sunken trough located on the outer edge of the shelter deck. The primary function of this feature is to effectively collect and dispose of water from the deck wash. For instance, in a cramped sailing vessel, the Gutterway comes in handy for quickly removing water from the deck.
