Definition of Hooding-end

´´´ The hooding-end refers to the last plate of a complete strake in nautical terminology. These hooding-ends are designed to fit snugly into the stem or stern post. ´´´ For instance, during the construction of a wooden boat, the carpenters would carefully shape and fit each hooding-end into the corresponding part of the boat´s stem or stern post.
