The Indigenous Shipowners Association of Nigeria (ISAN) is an organization specifically designed to represent the interests of indigenous Nigerian shipowners. ISAN’s mission is to promote the growth, development, and competitiveness of the indigenous Nigerian shipping sector.
For instance, during the annual shipping conference, ISAN, in collaboration with relevant government agencies, presented a position paper advocating for a more enabling regulatory environment for indigenous Nigerian shipowners. This, ISAN argued, would help stimulate investments in the sector, create jobs, and contribute to the overall economic growth of Nigeria.
