Nautical Term: Pallet

Definition of Pallet

(A pallet is a flat, rigid platform made of either wood or plastic. Cargo is securely strapped or lashed onto the pallet, making it easier to handle using cranes and forklift vehicles. For instance, during the loading process at a warehouse, workers may place heavy boxes onto a pallet, secure the boxes in place using straps or bands, and then use a forklift to lift and transport the loaded pallet to the next destination.)
