Definition of SOHSP

The ‘Shipboard Occupational Health and Safety Program’ (SOHSP) is a comprehensive set of policies, procedures, and guidelines designed to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all personnel involved in the operation of a ship. This includes, but is not limited to, crew members, passengers, contractors, and visitors. SOHSP covers a wide range of hazards and risks, such as those related to machinery, electrical systems, fire safety, occupational health, safety culture, and environmental protection.
