Definition of Polarity
Polarity refers to the property exhibited by electrified bodies, enabling them to attract or repel other bodies in opposite directions. For instance, in an electrical circuit, the current flows from the positive pole to the negative one. In the context of welding, more heat is generated on the positive pole, resulting in the welding rod being typically made the negative electrode.
