Definition of SATV

The ‘Safe Access to Vessels’ Working Group, or SATV WG for short, is an organization dedicated to enhancing safety procedures for accessing vessels. This group collaborates with maritime industries, governments, and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and promote best practices for safe vessel access.

Example: During the recent International Maritime Safety Committee conference, the Safe Access to Vessels Working Group presented their latest research findings. The group’s studies have identified several significant risk factors for accidents during vessel access. The SATV WG now plans to collaborate with industry experts and regulatory bodies to develop and implement practical solutions to mitigate these risks and enhance overall safety for personnel accessing vessels.
