Definition of Shed (also see warehouse)

A covered structure designed for the temporary reception, delivery, consolidation, distribution, and storage of cargo. Notably, a shed is typically used for shorter-term storage, whereas a warehouse is usually associated with longer-term storage.

For instance, a fruit distribution company might use a shed for sorting and packaging newly arrived fruit, before distributing it to retailers.
