Definition of Stern board
Stern boarding refers to the act of boarding a vessel from the stern (the rear end) rather than the bow (the front end). In other words, it involves approaching and boarding another ship while moving backwards.
For instance, imagine two pirate ships engaged in a fierce battle in the Caribbean Sea. Due to the maneuverability of their ships and the skill of their crews, one of the pirate ships manages to get behind the other ship’s stern. With a mighty cheer, the boarding party of the pursuing pirate ship hurls themselves onto the enemy ship’s deck, and the battle for control of the ships intensifies. This scenario illustrates the concept of stern boarding, which can be a powerful tactic in naval warfare.
