Definition of Sto-ro

A seafaring vessel designed to transport a combination of breakbulk cargo, which includes large packages or pallets that cannot be easily loaded or unloaded through a ship’s hatch, and vehicles or trailer borne cargo. Such vessels often have specialized loading and unloading equipment, as well as sufficient space and securing arrangements for the various types of cargo.

For instance, the MV Europa 2, a modern luxury cruise ship, can also function as a cargo vessel when it is configured to carry vehicles and other cargo, in addition to its passengers.
