Nautical Term: Water breaker
Definition of Water breaker
A water breaker refers to a small container or cask carried in ships’ boats for the specific purpose of providing drinking water.
For instance, during a long day of rowing, the crew of a ship’s boat may run out of their drinking water. In such a situation, they could take out their water breaker, fill it up from the ship’s water supply, and quench their thirst while continuing their voyage.
