Before Breaking Bulk (BBB) refers to a shipping term where cargo remains loaded on a vessel until it reaches its destination port. This means that the cargo has not been broken bulk or unloaded from the vessel before reaching the destination port.
For example, a freight forwarder contracts a shipping line to transport 10,000 tons of steel coils from Shanghai, China to Rotterdam, Netherlands. The cargo is loaded on the vessel in Shanghai and remains loaded until the vessel reaches Rotterdam. This cargo has not been Before Breaking Bulk or unloaded before reaching the destination port, ensuring the cargo remains secure and undamaged throughout the journey.
