Nautical Term: Bunk
Definition of Bunk
A built-in bed designed specifically for use onboard a ship. This type of bed, often referred to as a bunk, is an essential piece of equipment for sailors and seafarers.
For example, in a sailor’s log entry, they might write: Log Entry for February 15, 2023: My crew and I had a long day of sailing in rough seas. By the time we reached the safety of the harbor, we were all exhausted. Thankfully, our ship was well-equipped with comfortable bunks for each crew member. After a warm meal and some rest, we were all rejuvenated and ready to face the challenges of another day at sea.
