Nautical Term: CFR (or C&F)

Definition of CFR (or C&F)

Cost and Freight, often abbreviated as C&F or CFR, refers to the costs and freight charges incurred when transporting goods from the seller’s location to a named destination, usually a port or a warehouse. For instance, in a sales contract, the seller might agree to deliver the goods C&F to the buyer’s warehouse. This means that the buyer is responsible for paying the freight charges from the seller’s location to the buyer’s warehouse.
