Definition of Dungarees
Dungarees, also known as working overalls, are full-coverage garments commonly worn by sailors and other manual laborers. The traditional design features a long-sleeved shirt and pants, both made of heavy, denim-like fabric. The garment is usually fastened with buttons or, in some cases, with zippers. Here is an example of how dungarees would be used in a single paragraph:
As the sun began to rise over the harbor, the sailors on the docks started to prepare their vessels for the day’s journey. One by one, they slipped into their blue dungarees, fastening the buttons up the front of their shirts and the zippers at the backs of their pants.
