Definition of Endurance
The term ‘Endurance’ refers to the maximum time period that a vessel can sustainably operate without needing to be replenished, such as refueling or restocking supplies. For instance, a research vessel may be able to operate for several days at sea, conducting experiments and collecting data, before needing to return to port for supplies and crew rest.
