Definition of FAL

The Facilitation and Allocations (FAL) Committee is a group of individuals appointed by the maritime authority to oversee the facilitation of port calls and the allocation of port facilities. For instance, during a period of heavy vessel traffic, the FAL Committee would work closely with port authorities, terminal operators, and other stakeholders to ensure that port calls are facilitated efficiently and that available port facilities are allocated fairly.
