Nautical Term: Frame lines
Definition of Frame lines
Frame lines refer to the lines representing a vessel’s frames as laid out on the mold loft floor. These lines illustrate the form and position of the frames, including the line of intersection of the shell with the heel of the frame. For instance, when constructing a wooden ship, the frame lines would serve as the blueprint for assembling the frames, ultimately contributing to the overall structure of the vessel.
