Definition of Joggle

Joggle is a nautical term used to describe the process of gently bending a joint or seam in order to even out the surfaces on one side. For instance, when repairing a wooden hull on a boat, the shipwright may use the technique of joggling the joints where the planks meet in order to ensure that both surfaces are even and free of any high or low spots.
