Definition of Mold loft

A mold loft is a spacious, enclosed area where the lines of a vessel are meticulously laid out. In this workspace, molds or templates are carefully crafted to accurately represent the desired shape and contours of the vessel. For instance, a shipbuilder may use a mold loft to create the intricate molds needed to construct a luxury yacht.
