Definition of OSH
Open Shelter Deck’ (OSD) refers to an exterior deck area on a ship that is fitted with an open shelter or canopy. This deck area can be used for various purposes such as storing cargo or providing shelter for crew members during inclement weather. For instance, a cargo ship may have an OSD area designated for the temporary storage of sacks of grain before they are transported to the ship’s hold.
