Definition of QHSE

Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) refers to the practices and policies a maritime organization implements to ensure the quality of its products or services, the health and safety of its crew and personnel, and the protection of the environment in which it operates.

For instance, a shipping company may have a QHSE management system in place that includes regular inspections of its vessels to ensure they meet the required safety standards. Additionally, the company may have procedures for handling hazardous materials on board, as well as measures for minimizing the environmental impact of its operations, such as reducing fuel consumption and proper disposal of waste.
