Definition of Ram bow

A ram bow refers to the forward extension of a ship’s bow that extends under the waterline. This protrusion is usually situated considerable forward of the fore-castle deck. For instance, in the heat of battle, a ship might ram her bow into the side of an enemy vessel to inflict damage and potentially sink the opponent.
