Definition of RNLI
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution, often referred to as the RNLI, is a charitable organization in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Its primary mission is to save lives at sea through the provision of lifeboats, lifeguards, water safety education, and other related services.
For instance, during a coastal storm, the RNLI lifeguards stationed at the beach could alert swimmers to the danger and help them safely return to shore. Meanwhile, the RNLI lifeboat crew stationed at the nearby lifeboat station could launch their lifeboat and navigate through the stormy conditions to reach and rescue any distressed swimmers or other mariners in peril.
