To adjust and secure a nut or bolt on a maritime fixture, such as a cleat or shackle.

For instance, While underway, the sailor noticed that the security line connecting the sail to the boat was loose. He quickly set up the nut on the stud securing the line, tightening it to ensure the safety of the crew.
