Nautical Term: BOFFER
Definition of BOFFER
Best Offer (often abbreviated as BOFO or BOF) is a term in nautical trade negotiations. It represents the highest price a buyer is willing to pay for a specific item at that moment in time. Here’s an example:
In a negotiation for a vintage yacht, the buyer makes a Best Offer of $150,000. The seller, who had initially asked for $200,000, may then accept the Best Offer, reject it, or make a counteroffer.
